    Aysgarth Falls Yorkshire Dales National Park Visitor Centre

    Your first official stop of the day is one of Yorkshire's worst-kept, but incredibly awesome, secrets; Aysgarth Falls.
    This is undoubtedly one of the top nature spots of this entire trip through the Yorkshire Dales. The Falls are spread across three levels, so you can choose which parts you want to visit and how long you want to spend exploring each level.

    Bolton Castle

    This astonishing 14th-century castle has many accolades, including the fact that it's a Grade I listed building, as well as holding the title of a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
    You could happily spend all day exploring the tremendous castle and grounds, but as you only have two hours, be sure to check out the top highlights such as archery demonstrations, bird of prey shows and of course, the mighty fortress itself.
    Tickets to the castle, grounds and gardens cost £12.50 for adults and £9 for children aged between 5 and 18.

    Harmby Waterfall

    Yet another stunning waterfall nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is Harmby Waterfall, a sensational waterfall that resides just 15 minutes from Bolton Castle.
    Access to the waterfall can be gained by just a couple of minutes' walk from the main road through the village of Harmby so it's much easier to get to than many of the other waterfalls on this itinerary.

    Middleham Castle

    Another castle with an illustrious history in the heart of Yorkshire is Middleham Castle and this expansive fortress is definitely worth a nosey around.
    It was once the childhood home of Richard III and the entire castle and grounds are positively teeming with enigmatic history, just waiting to be discovered through the many halls and fortified walls.

    Jervaulx Abbey

    The last official stop of the day is Jervaulx Abbey, a Grade I listed structure that was once one of the great Cistercian abbeys of Yorkshire.
    With a tumultuous history, Jervaulx Abbey is definitely worth a mooch around and its fantastic ruins are truly a thing of beauty.
    Entrance to the abbey operates on an honesty box policy, so you can pay as little or as much as you want to explore the ruins and grounds at Jervaulx.
